NBC: FLEEING WAR AND RACISM

Many African students who were in Ukraine reported experiencing outward racism and discrimination when trying to flee. As a response, a group of volunteers created Black Foreigners in Ukraine, a global digital network helping Black people caught up in the war. (NBC NEWS FEATURES)

ONISION: IN REAL LIFE

Onision is one of the rare true crime programs about a case where no criminal charges have yet been filed. The figure at the center of is a YouTube personality, named Onision, who has been accused of grooming underage girls from his fanbase. For three episodes, and with an assist from Chris Hansen, we give the alleged victims a platform to lay out the case against him.

Shortly after the special aired, YouTube demonetized his channel.  (Discovery+)

In SIX DEGREES OF MURDER, we recount the story of murder investigations that required law enforcement to untangle a complicated web of relationships in order to uncover the truth. (ID)

ACTING REELS

Editing a good acting reel depends on mastering fidelity and pacing to shorten and tie together tonally disparate scenes. It takes fine work to highlight talent and produce a polished product.

CINEMATOGRAPHY REELS

Cinematography reels present a fascinating challenge; one must communicate exclusively through the moving image, nail the format, know when to break it, and match the cinematographer’s unique talents with music and movement, all in less than two minutes.

MUSIC VIDEOS

Music is the purest and most immediate form of expression, it requires no knowledge to appreciate. In the edit suite, one learns to play the song a second time, this time with visual accompaniment.

I relish working with artists outside my discipline, I find the relationships forged there to be deeply informative as to why we create, how we form creative thoughts, and how we can do so together for the best possible story.
